Federal custody is also separate. VINELink does not replace the Bureau of Prisons Locator, a federal court record, or the actual jail used by the U.S. Marshals Service. An immigration transfer must be followed through the receiving agency. Begin with the last known custodian instead of searching every system as if each covered the same population.
VINE works best as an alert layer beside an official record. It can tell a registered user that the source reported a change. Carlton County Jail can confirm physical custody, while the county’s data-request route reaches Sheriff Records for the lasting discharge entry. Sheriff Kelly Lake is the responsible authority named for that records office. The Carlton District Court record can then explain the bond, dismissal, sentence, or order behind the change.

VINE county-jail feeds in Minnesota usually update every fifteen or thirty minutes. That cadence is separate from Carlton’s hourly jail roster cycle. Neither interval promises that every release will appear within an exact number of minutes. Intake can also lag until a booking number is assigned.
